Single mum Fiona Days Nepal Story. Soon to Open her Namaste Shop in Dubai after a guesthouse in Kathmandu

UAE-

Fiona Day decided to open a small guesthouse in Kathmandu. The first step of everything is a dream. Unless people dream, they cannot do anything. In the 4 months that Fiona dreamed, the guesthouse was ready in the capital of Nepal. The guesthouse is small only for 6 bedrooms but ideal for those looking for a cosy guesthouse in the heart of Kathmandu.

Fiona, from England. Seeing her love toward Nepal, we have gathered her story to our readers. A foreign woman who is also a single woman, but her love for Nepal and her supportive spirit for Nepalese are astonishing to anyone. Fiona lives  with her 12 years old daughter in Dubai while her 20 year-old son is now currently studying, back in England. After accepting our request, we went to see her in the Spring Community of Emirates Hills in Dubai. Fiona shared her experience with Nepal in our meeting.

Fiona, who served as a police officer in England for four years in her youth. Fiona first visited Nepal in 2011. As soon as Fiona arrived in Nepal, Nepal instantly touched her heart. She soon madeNepalese friends and started coming to Nepal often. We know that Fiona has a lot of love and affection for Nepalese. As soon as her Namaste shop opens in Dubai Fiona will be supporting Child Rescue Nepal, Animal Medical Clinic and Blessed Hope Nepal in the region. Giving back is her passion. She believes we have to all help, help others and help the world.

Fiona’s guest house is called Amore guest House. Although she does not know much about Nepal’s business policy, Fiona knows a lot about Nepal and Nepalese. Fiona’s involvement in the Nepalese community is what she loves, she said.

After only 4 months of hard work and determination her Amore Guesthouse was soon open. Fiona, who travels to Nepal every four to six weeks since opening the guest house says every time she leaves to return to Dubai she leaves her heart in Nepal. It’s ‘’my spiritual home’’ Fiona said.

she said that while the Nepalese government was promoting the tourism year, the management of the garbage collection, smoke and dust in Nepal is not managed properly.  Although the level of international airports has been raised to some extent in the recent past, her experience says that the processes are complicated. She said that the first airport should be upgraded to attract the maximum number of tourists and there is no need to raise the tourist visa fee. Fiona even had a frustrating experience of waiting a long time at the immigration, when suddenly the counter staff went for lunch, and many along with her had to wait until the staff came from his break. It is yet to be asked what the management side of the Tribhuvan International Airport are doing to improve it?

How’s a British expat smiling face connected with Nepal? We wanted to know more!

“Nepal has beautiful nature with beautiful Nepalese people, so my heart was drawn. That is why I like Nepal, “says Fiona.

Arthabazar.com asked her what should be done to develop Nepal

Fiona’s first answer was “government.” She further said that bringing the younger generation to the leadership and bringing them to the forefront of country is important also education should be the first priority of government. Stressing things like pollution, road, old working style, she has been repeatedly frustrated When it comes to development, there are so many beautiful handicrafts, talented people, amazing musicians and artizans, The world needs to know more about Nepal, and their talents should be out in the world. This is difficult if the country cannot work efficiently and effectively. The government needs to connect to the people, the people need to then be able to feel they can trust their government. working together would change Nepal dramatically.

Fiona explained she has many dreams on how she wishes to help Nepal. After opening Namaste a Nepali handicraft shop in Dubai in December Fiona’s next plan is to open a Vegan restaurant in Kathmandu. She also announced that her plan to employ caregivers so they can help the street dogs in Kathmandu. Fiona’s deep love for animals was also revealed. During our chat, Fiona spoke highly of Lexi, her dog back in Kathmandu.

Fiona, who’s been a single mother for 10 years now has motivated and empowered herself. Fiona could be an example for many women.  Fiona, who focuses on women’s empowerment, is now 43 years old. There was no one to encourage her, but Fiona, who had come this far by herself. Fiona advises everyone to keep moving forward with a positive outlook, believe in yourself, your dreams and do not let anyone put you down. Fiona’s daily routine is similar to. Everyone has problems in life, but learning to be happy is very important, living alone in the expensive city like Dubai is not easy but she is managing and strives to lead by example. She hopes those who have many fears can realise they can also achieve too.

Fiona says, there is no need for millions to start a business. The first step to every big success is having a passion, believing you can do it and start small. She didn’t have that much money when Fiona’s Amore guesthouse was opened. But the willpower was immense.

I asked Fiona what would be her advice for the Nepalese in the UAE and the world. ‘Believe in yourself,  love what you are doing, work hard and you can do anything”. For family we don’t have to stay abroad for many years, there are many ways in Nepal for starting a small business. Only your faith and presence are needed there. “

But when starting a business, Fiona’s experience says trust your gut instincts, your intuition, always trust your feelings inside.  “Nepal is a very good country. I have always loved Nepal. My Namaste Shop is just the first step,  I would like to open another small shop in another mall. I don’t want to have an expensive car or a big house as long as I can afford my normal expenses, so long as I am motivating Nepali, “says Fiona. The dream must be big enough to be successful. I believe that even though I am a single woman, there are many single mothers in Nepal. Fiona said ‘’ do not give up but believe in themselves.

Every man should believe in himself for what he can contribute for himself and for the country.

We hope that the story with Fiona will help many to think about the country and to have a positive outlook. The only woman that comes from another place is doing very much in Nepal.

We must think twice because someone who came from another country is saying Nepal has lot of things and Nepali can do much more they only have to build positive attitude, which force everyone to think about themselves.

Good luck to Fiona who is wanted to do many things for Nepal we really appreciate for your empowerment of developing positivity.
