KATHMANDU: Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd., the official distributor for Hyundai in Nepal, has announced that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric vehicle (EV), already available in the Nepali market, will now come in a new 100-kilowatt motor variant.
The Ioniq 5 EV with a 100 kW motor will be priced at Rs 9.296 million, according to the company.
The Ioniq 5 was first introduced in Nepal in Feb 2022, featuring a 58 kWh battery capable of delivering a range of up to 375 kilometers.
The Ioniq 5 has received several prestigious awards, including the 2022 World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle of the Year, and World Car Design of the Year.
Widely acclaimed internationally, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is considered one of the most premium and stylish electric vehicles on the market. Its futuristic design includes eye-catching parametric pixel headlamps, a clamshell hood, and pixelated taillights.
Although the new 100 kW motor variant has a different motor power, the company states that its range and other specifications will match those of the 125 kW version.
The new 100 kW Ioniq 5 is expected to be available in the Nepali market within a month. Customers interested in purchasing it can begin booking at showrooms starting today.

Hyundai has engineered it with an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture, making it the fastest-charging EV currently available in Nepal. Supporting a 350 kW DC fast charger, the Ioniq 5 can charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
